Student Apartments: Allow You To Have Your Independence
The rules are in place to keep all of the students safe in a dorm setting, but for many students, they feel that the rules are too restrictive. Some universities even require that guests sign in. The rules vary according to the university and the dorms. Of course, many universities have housing options that are less restrictive. The university might not allow underclassmen to live in these dorms, however. The less restrictive dorms might also be filled to capacity.
When you shop around for student apartments, you should consider the amenities that the accommodations offer. You might find that the accommodations give you easy access to weightlifting facilities, a pool, and a large lounge for studying or group meetings. If you are a member of a student group, you can easily have gatherings in the large lounge. For some meetings and associations, it is important that some plans are kept private. For example, if your organization or group is participating in a dance competition, or a stepping competition, you do not have to be as concerned about members of the other organizations or groups knowing exactly what you are doing.
Student apartments are usually close to campus, so even if you do not have a vehicle, you can get to your classes. You are also living near other people who are going to the school, so you have many of the same experiences as the on-campus students. Another big difference that students who live in student apartments experience, is the ability to have parties in their homes.
